The China Agricultural Sector Development Report 2021 (CASDR) is the think tank report of CAAS and the Chinese Institute of Agricultural Development Strategies. Based on statistical data and the China Agricultural Sector Model (CASM), the CASDR 2021 focuses on the competitiveness of China’s seed industry and the trends of the agri-food system during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. The report discusses the hot issues, i.e. the recovery of pig production capacity and the potential risks affecting the development of the agricultural industry. The report also provides the projections of cereals, oilseeds, livestock products, and aquatic products.
The IFPRI 2021 Global Food Policy Report (GFPR) draws on evidence from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) across the globe to analyze both the impacts of and the policy responses to the crisis, with a particular lens on vulnerable groups, who have suffered disproportionately. The report details how livelihoods, food security, and nutrition have been affected; how and why impacts have varied across regions and countries; and what our food systems and food supply chains need to look like to better absorb such shocks in the coming years. The report’s contributors stress, to transform global food system, will require multifaceted, evidence-based approaches as well as cooperation and collaboration within and across sectors and borders.
